Educare Central Maine staff and Maine State Parent Ambassadors (MSPA) joined dozens of people gathered in Augusta on Wednesday, April 6th to celebrate the legislature passing LD 1652 to invest $12 million into the childcare workforce.  Rhonda Kaiser, Educare Central Maine Director, joined Educare staff Heather Wargo and Brittany Foss, and MSPA members Michele Gonya, Isreal Mosley and Melissa Harding for a photo with Governor Mills at the event.

The MSPA program is a year-long leadership and advocacy program for Head Start parents in Maine. The goal is to develop parent leaders and empower parents to advocate for themselves and their children.  Each year parents with children enrolled in a Head Start program, including Educare, are selected to become parent ambassadors using a competitive process.
